About Me

I'm Dan from Tasmania aka Tassie, Australia. Tassie is a beautiful island with vast tracts of intact wilderness protected by UNESCO World Heritage.

I signed up to TakingItGlobal for the primary purpose of becoming involved with Project Borneo 3D and DeforestAction.

Ever since I was young, I have been encouraged to think about issues beyond my own little corner of the world. As someone with an INFP personality, I tend to see the world as one giant interconnected web where everything we do has consequences on other people and the world around us. Those of us in the privileged world really have no excuse for not trying just that little bit harder to do the right thing.

I love the wilderness. I love people. I love culture - hence why I have been dubbed "half Asian and "honourary Asian" from time to time by my Asian friends. In reality I just yearn to understand what it is that makes other people tick and one can't accomplish that without being as others are and doing as they do.

I can handle spicy food pretty well.

Every day is a new day. No day should be wasted, for there is no time to waste.
