It's time to be proactive and start learning Bahasa Indonesia as twelve of us will be going to Borneo very soon.
In my opinion, the best way to learn a new language is to practice with a native speaker. I took some private lessons before working in Indonesia a few years ago and it helped a big deal.
In the mean time, there are some good books, CDs and online resources available to learn.
To get you started I would recommend the following websites:
http://web.uvic.ca/hrd/indonesian/
and
http://www.seasite.niu.edu/Indonesian/
Feel free to add to the list and good learning!

"Selamat Pagi" = Good Morning
"Terima kasih" = Thank you
"Selamat datang" = welcome.
Indonesian natives like foreigners who can speak Indonesian Language. At first, they will laugh or smile at you, but it's ok, it means they start to like you.
Enjoy your time in Indonesia. Welcome. "Selamat Datang"
