About Me
Aanu’ Rotimi, a Nigerian, is currently the program Officer for Youth Aid Organisation for Africa (YAOFA) and a volunteer for National Youth Network on HIV/AIDS (NYNETHA).She served on the youth Sub committee of the International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa 2005 (ICASA). She has worked closely with UNICEF and NYSC as logistics and youth facilitator on the Reproductive Health and HIV /AIDS: the project is educate and empower over 70,000 corp members on the issue of reproductive sexual health and HIV/AIDS, out of which some volunteers to be trained as peer educators, and a facilitator on the MDGS / UNDP/ NYSC family Life education.
Aanu is a human right activist and have served in various leadership positions such, the public relation officer : medical community Development Group of the NYSC FCT , Vice President : faculty of agriculture Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso ,Oyo state, Coordinator : National Association Of Nigerian Student Female Directorate, Deputy Coordinator: National Association Of Nigerian Female Students , Campus coordinator : Good Governance Club (a project of Legal Right , Research and Documentation Centre ). Co- founder of a health club on campus: Health Advocates’ club, serves as a volunteer to many youth led NGOs and sits on several committees; member of diverse development networks.
Aanu started working on HIV/AIDS Projects after her encounter with a woman living with HIV/AIDS within her first week of gaining admission into the university.
She has been reaching, children, rural youth, faith based youths, young girls, women CSWs, IDUs, YPLWHA on HIV/AIDS, education , empowerment, livelihoods issues , etc.
She has also worked as an agricultural sciences instructor among young people between the ages of 10-15 years.
Aanu holds a B. Technology in Animal Production and Health, a certificate in Theology, certificate in Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS, certificate HIV/AIDS voluntary counseling and testing (referral) under the UNICEF /NYSC HIV/AIDS prevention project.
She has attended various seminars, workshops, conferences on human right, woman right, health especially HIV/AIDS.
She is committed to the process of achieving the MDGs in Nigeria.
