About Me
Hello and welcome everyone! Thanks for checking out my profile. My name is Steve Sears - and along with TakingITGlobal I want to keep you inspired, informed, and involved!
I should begin by telling you that I come to TIG with a diverse and interesting background. Let's start from the beginning, where my passions emerged. At age 4, I picked up a baseball for the very first time; I have loved playing and watching the sport ever since. I continue to follow the Toronto Blue Jays with dedication and the hope that someday I will enjoy a pennant race at the Rogers Centre.
In high school I developed a love for video production. Attending Mohawk College for the Broadcasting: Television and Communications Media program I was able to showcase my skills behind the camera. I have been fortunate enough to work with the Hamilton Tiger Cats, NBC Sports at the Vancouver Winter Olympics and CBS Sports for the Canadian Open.
In 2007 I decided to return to school, this time for university. I recognized that my writing gave me a platform to speak out about the things that interest me and as my knowledge about the world around me increased, so did my desire to get involved. While studying at Brock University in the Communications Media program I took on an intern position at a local digital media company and began developing my corporate writing skills with newsletters, correspondence and general administrative materials. Consequently, I have begun my long a tedious search for work in communications in the Toronto area.
My search has led me to find a position working with a great company called TakingITGlobal where I am the Marketing and Promotions Assistant for the TIGed program. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and getting involved with these important initiatives.
